Features of Bison Panel / Bison Board
- There will always be a water jet to put out any fires that may be present. As a result, a good construction board needs to be moisture and fire-resistant. Some boards that are advertised as being very water resistant are not. Similarly, some boards that are advertised as being water-resistant are not fire-resistant. However, Bison Panels are better in that they can withstand both fire and dampness.
- When there are fire mishaps, smoke poses a greater danger than real fire does. Boards with synthetic resins employed as the bonding agent release poisonous fumes and huge amounts of smoke that are hazardous to human health. In contrast, burning Bison Panels may only produce a little amount of safe, non-toxic smoke. This Bison Panel is completely free of asbestos.
- Bison Panel is weather resilient like any other ceramic product since cement is the primary component in the matrix of the board. Termites are not a problem for the board since the wood particles are mineralized and covered with cement. Bison Panels have been the subject of long-term watering tests at the Building Research Institute in Watford, England. It was discovered that after three years of exposure to weather at 20A C and 65% RH, Bison Panel strips had somewhat grown in strength. After 15 years, it was tested, and the initial strength had not changed. It's noteworthy to note that these tests were performed on bare board strips without any protection. Other boards seldom exhibit such remarkable resilience.
- The major cause of dimensional instability is the release and absorption of moisture. Moisture is absorbed and released by all wood particle boards. Moisture is both absorbed and released by Bison Panel. It does not, however, experience dimensional instability or fluctuations. After being submerged in water for 24 hours, Bison Panel's swelling in thickness is just 1.5, which is very little. The other boards swell by a factor of 10 to 15.
- Because of its smooth surface, Bison Panel requires no surface preparation. The board may accept any kind of surface treatment, including lamination, paper overlays, and emulsion paint as well as lime wash and water-bound distemper. Conversely, the majority of alternative timber-based boards cannot be painted using water-based colors.
- The manufacturing of Bison Panel complies with ISO/BIS requirements. Only one grade of Bison Panel is produced under strict quality supervision. There is no such thing as a waterproof grade. Fire Proof Grade, Boiling Water Proof Grade, Commercial Grade, etc. in Bison Panel. All of the Bison Panel's proofs are of the same grade.

Advantages of Bison Board
- Due to the great density of the bison panel, it weighs more. The Panel's superior compressive strength is a result of its higher density. For instance, a panel that is 50 mm thick and formed of two 10 mm bison panels with light gauge steel framing on each side can support a vertical weight of 1100 kg plus per foot of its length. It is impossible to do this with any other medium- or light-density boards, which is astonishing. In the end, the disadvantage of the heavier weight pales in comparison to the strength provided by the Bison Panel. Bison Panel is cost-effective and sturdy for uses like furniture that don't need to be moved often.
- Drilling machines and circular cutting saws are two examples of instruments that can operate with ease on a bison panel. Compared to comparable resin-bonded boards, Bison Panel exhibits much-reduced tool wear. This is because the resistance provided by cement is far less than that provided by the sticky resin-made board.
- All particle boards have an issue with edge protection. In addition to having an issue with edge protection, Bison Panel also has a low tensile strength (9N/mm2) and a high density. The issue may be quickly resolved with the right support and lipping. When attached or grasped in frame construction, the bison panel becomes robust and powerful. It merely has to be handled carefully to prevent early damage. In actuality, the carpenter's expertise in delicately managing the panel is more crucial than the real abilities needed to work with it.
- Nearly all of the wooden planks owing to a change in the board's moisture content, warp. This is especially true if they are experiencing an imbalanced situation. When one side of the board's surface is covered while the opposite side is exposed to the environment, an imbalance results. For instance, if a row of boards is left uncovered, the top board is more likely to warp since the top surface is exposed whereas the bottom surface is not. According to the level of air humidity, the exposed side of the board releases or absorbs moisture, warping the board. When the board releases moisture, warping is more likely to occur. By wrapping the stack with water-resistant paper or fabric, this may be prevented.
- Similar to how warping happens when a board has one side painted and the other is left unpainted. To prevent this, it will be necessary to paint all sides and the edges in order to get an equal result. Similar to how one side of the board is laminated, the opposite side must be provided equivalent effect by being painted with impermeable paint or using a less expensive lamination paper, PVC foil, etc. In this regard, it's crucial to keep in mind that the board must be dry before painting or laminating. When the board begins to lose moisture in a warm environment, it may result in the laminate de-bonding or the paint blistering if there is an excessive amount of moisture in the board. The board is "non-condensing" due to its capacity to both absorb and release moisture, which is crucial for boards in use in harsh climatic conditions.
