Airslide Divertors

Airslides are powder conveying equipment without any moving parts. They are built to have two chambers one above the other. The top chamber conveys the powdered material like cement, limestone powder etc., which are dry and free flowing. The bottom chamber is the airchamber. This chamber is connected to an air blower and is pressurized to normally 630 mmwg pressure. The separation between the two chambers are by a permeable nylon fabric called airslide cloth. This is fixed very tightly and on a tensioned state over metallic flanges by a special tensioning process. When the airslide blower is started and the air fills the bottom chamber, the air passes through the nylon fabric and fluidises the material. The conveyor is given a slope of up to 8-12 degrees. This inclination makes the materil flow towards the lower inclination. Thus conveying is achieved without any moving parts. Modern Large cement plants have upto 600 TPH capacities conveyed through these airslides. when multiple storage points are to be filled up by single airslides, diverters become necessary. GMV have successfully developed airslide divertors with two bearing principle - One thrust bearing and another locating bearing. The bearings are located outside the diverter and hence no maintenance is required. The internal moving flap of the diverter is made of stainless steel. The flap can easily be replaced.
