Chiffon is a light, translucent fabric, made of cotton, silk and synthetic fibres. It is made of fine, tightly twisted yarns. These fine yarns could be placed in the filing or the warp or both. If made in a straight sheath style, it is underlined with a firm fabric like faille taffeta. In spite of being a diaphanous fabric, this sari is very strong and has a high resistance to wear and tear. These saris are considered to have a slightly fluffy look, since the twist in the yarn puckers the fabric slightly in both directions. Giving it a stretched and a bit of rough feel.
