It's utilised in confectionery, ice cream, cheeses, and baked products as a synthetic fruit taste. Butyl acetate is a moderately polar solvent with a high boiling point. Along with ethyl acetate, it is also used as a solvent in nail polish. Namely A solvent used in nail polish is butyl acetate. It's commonly used with ethyl acetate to aid nitrocellulose dissolution.
