Lightening or thunder is quite common in rainy season and when it happens the discharge of the clouds may go to high rise structures such as over head transmission lines. To counter this, we came up with an idea of incorporating this protection feature into Combo UPS+ to protect domestic equipment connected with the home UPS and the UPS itself, from being damaged by this sudden over-voltage. One can avail this optional protective feature at nominal charges. Another advantage of this Lightening protection feature is that the fusible MOV used in it can be easily replaced by the end-user also. This means that in case the MOV fuse gets shorted due to thundering, the end-user can, without any help from any repair-engineer, replace the fusible part with a new one. Additional fusible parts are provided to the end-user at the time of installation itself.
