Hydraulic Rail Clamps are used in Bulk Material Handling Equipments like Stackers, Reclaimers, Stacker cum Reclaimers etc. In case of storm, high speed winds tend to topple these machines. Hydraulic Rail Clamps hold them securely to the Rail and protect them against high winds.
Arrangement one rail clamp is provided on each rail and a common hydraulic power pack is provided for both the Cylinders. Rail clamp is attached to the follower wheel Bogie of Stacker/Reclaimer.
Operation during running of Stacker or Reclaimer, hydraulic power pack is on and the hydraulic Cylinder opens the jaws of Rail clamp on each rail against spring force. When the machine is shut, the hydraulic cylinder retracts and the jaws held on the rails due to spring force.
