It can greatly inhibit racemization and react under heating.

Fmoc-Osu is a commonly used amino-protecting reagent for the production of Fmoc-amino acid derivatives. It can avoid some problems in the mixed acid anhydride method and can selectively protect hydroxyl-containing amino acids. But the formation efficiency of dipeptide is lower than Fmoc-Cl.
