Key Features
The cable tension is controlled through pneumatic cable closing cylinders that are located inside the caterpillar. The pressure regulation on each belt is independent and adjustable by a manometer.
The belts are driven by a AC motor coupled to a gearbox unit with two gear ratios. The power transmission between the two belts is controlled by a gear belt which avoids any slippage.
The centre line of the Haul-Off Caterpillar is not affected by the cable diameter, as the gripping pressure of both the upper and lower belt is separately adjustable.
The caterpillar is completely symmetric and can be utilised either in a left to right or right to left configuration.
A pair of adjustable cable guide rollers are located at the inlet and the outlet of the caterpillar to align the cable in the machine.
