HF Welding Machine is most suitable for plastics which, electrically speaking, have a high loss factor. Some plastics such as polystyrene, polythene and polypropylene are impossible to heat in a dielectric field and are therefore said to have a low loss factor.
On the other hand, PVC which is comparatively easy to heat in a dielectric field and which possesses high loss factor, meets the requirements of H.P. welding very well. Other plastics are intermediate between these two extremes and are healable by high frequency techniques to varying degrees.
