High Grade Red Rice

Red rice has a unique colour due a compound called anthocyanin, which also provides a great boost of antioxidants.
It too contains the outer bran and cereal germ. This rice definitely contains a higher amount of nutrients than white rice.

One needs to understand that raw and unpolished red rice has a glycemic index of 55 or slightly less which makes it a great choice for diabetics. Hence people with high blood sugar levels can consume red rice in moderation i.e. 100 to even 150 grams on a daily basis.
So basically, both brown and red are nutritious, but the red variety, is arguably the most nutritious.
