The PRHE davit system is equipped with a self contained hydraulic power pack unit and an electric rescue boat winch. Pivoting outboard of the boat from its stowed position into launch position is realised by means of accumulated power, lowering of the rescue boat is by means of gravity. The pivoting motion is actuated from within the rescue boat by means of remote control pull wire and can be controlled by one person. Optionally an hydro-pneumatic 'shock absorber' can be included, to dampen forces on davit structure, winch drum, steel wire rope and the boat during launch and recovery operations.
