Jackson Rees Breathing System

The Jackson-Rees breathing system, also known as the Mapleson D system, is a type of anesthesia breathing system used in the administration of anesthesia to patients during surgery. It was developed by two anesthesiologists, Ivan Magill and Stanley Rowbotham Jackson, in the early 20th century. The Jackson-Rees system is particularly suitable for pediatric patients and shorter surgical procedures. It offers several advantages, including minimal dead space, low resistance to gas flow, and the ability to manually ventilate the patient easily.
