It is a coniferus tree which grows up to 10m in height and it takes 3 years to mature. Its scientific name is juniperus communis .juniper is a female cone and because of its fleshy & merged scales which cover the seeds it appears like berry. Berries are green when young and change to purple black in color in 1 year 6 months. The purple berries are used in cuisine & gin.
EXTRACTION:
Juniper berry oil can be obtained by process of steam distillation of dried, crushed ripe fruit of juniper berry Plant
PROPERTIES:
It is a Pale colored oil and its viscosity is watery.
COMPONENTS:
Its main components are Alpha Pinene, Camphene, Beta Pinene, Sabinene, Myrcene, lpha Terpinene, Gamma Terpinene, Cineole etc.
BLENDING:
It blends well with Bergamot, Cedar Wood, Cypress, Grapefruit, Geranium, Lavandin, Lavender Etc.
USES:
Owing to its antiseptic Properties it protects wounds from infections.
It also improves blood circulation.
It also helps in Easing Spasms.
Being an astringent it helps in giving relieve in toothache.
It also reduces chances of Hemorrhaging.
It also is carminative and helps in removal of gas.
