Indigo & Indigo Henna

Indigo is the blue dye derived from crushing & composting the indigo plant. The dye is sold in the form of a a cakea and traditionally fabrics are dyed through a living natural fermentation process, which a reducesa the Indigo in a vat changing the colour from yellow to green to blue after exposure to air.

Indigo and henna are both plants that have dye in their leaves and the combination of henna and indigo is very good for hair, and makes it strong, soft and lustrous. Henna and Indigo were used to dye hair until about sixty-five years ago when synthetic hair dye became available. People got rid of Henna and Indigo and changed to tidy little bottles of chemicals, which were convenient, but were also very toxic.
