The BMC Teamelite TE03 SLX/Deore takes the know-how BMC engineers gained from perfecting the 29er TE01 and applies those lessons to triple-butted, hydroformed aluminum. Aluminum was pretty well advanced already, and then BMC started hydroforming the tubes, creating shapes that were heretofore impossible. The result is a ride with very precisely manipulated qualities. These qualities make it among the most plush aluminum hardtails you can find.

The fork is RockShox Recon Gold. It's a fairly simple 32mm stanchion fork with tapered 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" steerer. RockShox put a Solo Air cartridge on one side, complete with an air guide printed on the fork, and a fixed coil on the other, and external rebound adjuster. There's a simple TurnKey lockout that has a blow-off valve in case you get surprised with a big hit.
