Ni-MH uses positive electrodes of nickel oxyhydroxide (NiOOH) and negative electrodes use a hydrogen-absorbing alloy. Ni-MH battery can have 2 a 3 times the capacity of NiCd batteries of the same size, with significantly higher energy density although much less than lithium-ion batteries.
