It usually burns with a pale blue flame in air or oxygen forming sulphur dioxide mainly and a little sulphur tri-oxide. It is also known as native sulphur and is recovered from sulphur bearing rocks which contain about 20% sulphur and other impurities like clay, lime-stone, sand and gypsum.
