Q. How do hot metal detectors work?

Hot metal detectors detect infrared energy of hot products, like steel. When the object temperature rises or drops in respect to a preset threshold limit, they provide switching signal. It detects IR energy through lens system and then translate into a small electrical signal, resulting in beep sound or/and visual graphics.
