Q. Is nylon the strongest rope?
Answer
No nylon ropes are considered to be one of the strongest ropes closely behind polypropylene ropes. Although polypropylene is tougher than nylon both materials are resilient and long-lasting. In fact owing to its tremendous resilience polypropylene is frequently referred to as the "steel of plastics." The reason Nylon loses out slightly behind polypropylene is because when nylon ropes get wet they tend to get weaker by a margin of 20% when compared to the dry state. In dry condition nylon ropes are amazingly stout and resilient.
