Q. What is parboiled, single boiled, double boiled, and steam rice?

Answer

Parboiled rice is obtained by boiling the paddy in a container after harvesting and threshing. While doing so the rice is partially boiled so that the grain still remains firm. This process when done for a single time results in single boiled rice and when repeated for a second time results in the the rice acquiring more yellowish colour which is transferred from the husk. Steamed rice is the ready cooked rice for eating.
