Q. What is the difference between old and new type fan regulator?

Answer

The conventional fan regulator is cheap which uses resistor to control the voltage and fan's speed. That's why it consumes more electricity. Whereas, new-type (capacitive) fan regulator is a bit costly which uses capacitor and thus, consume very low power.
