Q. What is the disadvantage of a white metal bearing?
Answer
White metal is relatively soft metal because it is an alloy of softer metal. This is the reason that white metal is sometimes termed unsuitable for manufacturing bearings. However, it contains hard crystals which lead to creation of grooves and in turn, better lubrication.
