Q. What is the working principle of a planetary gearbox?
Answer
A planetary gearbox connects its planet gear and sun gear from centre through a carrier that is held stationary. While the sun gear is fixed and used as an input shaft, the planetary gear rotates around the sun gear and used as an output shaft to transfer the torque in the most compact form, known as torque density.
